Mazzella, Co-Owner
Kim Mazzella is co-owner of Reach Pilates and a certified Core Dynamics Pilates Instructor. Born and raised in Delaware and Maryland, Kim now calls Chicago her home. She lives in Roscoe Village with her husband David and their four children. Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant with her first child at just 30 years old. She is blessed to be a 15 year breast cancer survivor. After recovering from cancer and chemotherapy she found herself looking for a new way to exercise. She started taking pilates and it wasn't long until this busy mother was hooked. She studied under Michele Larson with prestigious Core Dynamics Pilates teacher training program and became certified in 2005. Kim is a funny, positive and inspiring teacher that understands the needs of a busy mother. She is willing to experiment with new exercises and techniques to meet the individual needs of her clients. Kim feels that the key to a successful studio is to keep it friendly, welcoming, positive and fun. Reach Pilates is all of that and much more.
Margaret
Friend, Co-Owner
Margaret G. Friend is co-owner of Reach Pilates and a certified Core Dynamics Pilates Instructor. She was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in Akron, Ohio. Margaret moved to Chicago right after college and considers it the city where her heart belongs. She lives in the Lakeview neighborhood with her 3 teenage daughters. Margaret could see the appeal of pilates when her daughters became active in sports. She was interested in the benefits gained to prevent sports related injuries. She started taking classes with Margeaux Raymond and immediately fell in love with the results and benefits pilates can do for your body, including your back and abdomen. She entered the Comprehensive Core Dynamics training program and became a certified instructor in 2005. Margaret loves teaching and has a wide range of clients at Reach pilates from teenagers with knee injuries to older clients with Parkinson's disease. She has a laid back but serious approach to her teaching. Some pilates studios tend to be intimidating and stuffy. Margaret wants you to know that Reach pilates is a welcoming friendly neighborhood pilates studio.
 Lynn
Castiglioni
Lynn Castiglioni has been teaching pilates for over 10 years. She has two certifications. The first she received through "From the Center" and then became a certified "Core Dynamics' Pilates Instructor and has been teaching pilates since 2001. She started taking pilates as a student after she was diagnosed with 3 herniated discs on the recommendation of her orthopedic surgeon. Strengthening her core would be essential in alleviating her back pain. She fell in love with pilates and decided to enter the teaching training program and now enjoys a life minus back pain. She is a mother of 3 and has had extensive experience teaching pre- and post-natal pilates learning through her own practice during her pregnancies. Lynn is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and Idea Fit. She has the experience and knowledge to take on a wide range of clients. She can provide a challenging work out or get a client back into shape post baby or injury. Lynn is a wonderful, caring teacher who listens to the needs of her clients and will put together a plan to for maximum success.

Lynsey T. Grissom
Lindsey T. Grissom fell in love with Pilates in 2007 in response to an
ailing, stressed body and has never looked back. Lindsey was born and
raised in Andersonville and calls it home today with her husband Matt and two tortoises. In the daytime she works for her family's Lakeview elevator interior business. She grew up as a competitive swimmer and today enjoys cycling, Tai Chi and the outdoors. With two years of teaching under her belt, she is a recently certified Core Dynamics Pilates Instructor, a member of the Pilates Method Alliance, and is currently working on her PMA certification. Studying under Michele Larson in Santa Fe, NM, Lindsey carries on the Eve Gentry technique that aims to address the individual needs of individual bodies. By use of modification, Lindsey believes Pilates is open to everyone and the perfect antidote to the pressures of a busy life. Her classes are aimed to address individual challenges, postural faults, balancing flexibility and strength building. Lindsey welcomes you to the Reach Pilates community and wishes to pass on the joy found within through movement.
Wes Waggener, PhD, CSCS
Wes joined the Reach Pilates team in July 2011. Wes completed his Fletcher Pilates comprehensive program here in Chicago. A full studio Pilates instructor, Wes is also a personal trainer and fitness specialist. He has earned degrees in physical education and a masters of science in biomechanics from Ball State University. Wes earned a PhD in Kinesiology from Michigan State University. Wes has taught in higher education since 1997, serving on faculty at both alma maters as well as Lansing Community College, Eastern Michigan University, and The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. A former gymnast himself, he coached for 4 seasons as an assistant coach to the Ball State University women’s team and also coached youth gymnasts, volleyball, and tennis players. In addition to teaching Pilates, Wes works in wellness and medical fitness management, currently as a corporate Medical Integration Manager for Power Wellness. In his spare time, Wes enjoys playing tennis, field hockey, volleyball, working out and spending time with friends.
Molly Barnes
Molly Barnes is a Chicago native, born in the Roscoe Village neighborhood. Molly was first introduced to Pilates at the prestigious performing arts conservatory high school, Idyllwild Arts Academy in Idyllwild, Ca. She continued her study of Pilates at Otterbein University where she earned her BFA in Acting and Dance Composition. After stints in London and Hollywood she returned to Chicago inspired to pursue Pilates as a full time career. Molly is a Qualified Fletcher Pilates® Teacher completing the Ron Fletcher Program of Study in 2008. She has had the honor to work with Pilates Master Ron Fletcher and has taken workshops and classes from Michelle Larsson, Jillian Hessel, Wendy Leblanc-Arbuckle, Rael Isacowitz, Mari Windsor, and Diane Severino. A member of the Pilates Method Alliance Molly is PMA Certified, as well as certified in Pre and Postnatal fitness through Healthy Moms®. Molly is an energetic teacher with a great sense of humor. Laughter is often heard coming from her classes as she believes that Pilates should always be fun as well as a focused and challenging movement experience. Molly is thrilled to be part of the Reach Pilates family where there is a genuine sense of community and a down to earth approach to Pilates. When she's not enjoying the delights of the city with her husband Jeremy and their dog Mona, Molly travels to Palm Springs, Ca to work with her mentor master Fletcher Pilates teacher Susan Salk at her studio Pilates Palm Springs.
